# Round 3 revised candidate — Section 9: limitations and conclusions **Status:** revised candidate for second audit; not ready. This module answers the integrated claim-ceiling question after Modules 03–09. Module 09 is imported as a ready author interface, while final experiment prose and any panel remain blocked by the author-supply/provenance gate. ## Section question and bounded answer **Question.** What integrated conclusion survives the Legacy/V5, chain, metric, causality, theory and experiment boundaries, and which decisive tests would raise the claim ceiling? **Bounded answer.** Named learned control provides capability demonstrations across the declared tasks; independent field matching is supported only for named Legacy Kármán Re100; and the Legacy Kármán action and field evidence supports a bounded control-skeleton interpretation organized by dominant persistent rear rotation plus a smaller dynamic correction. Cross-case Vortex and Illusion evidence remains named wake-signature or visual PPO capability under distinct contracts, with no Vortex event L2, conditional Illusion field L2 and unsupported Erase quantification; the author-described experiment interface remains provenance-gated. These levels do not establish a unbounded law or causal explanation. ## Layer 1 — narrative and conclusion map ### Discussion paragraph 1 — capability to Legacy Kármán field matching The strongest integrated result begins with capability, but its evidence is not a single pooled score. Under the named Legacy and V5 contracts, learned force-plus-sparse-observation control provides named wake-signature capability for the declared Kármán task and extends to named transient Vortex and non-zero-target Illusion demonstrations under distinct contracts. Independent spatial field matching is supported only for the named Legacy Kármán Re100 case: the controlled trajectory is closer to its target than physical zero in both complete-cycle mean-field and eight-slot phase-resolved L2 within the registered downstream ROI. DTW remains complementary, signal-level and case-specific; it does not replace L2, represent a physical delay or establish causality. The V5 seed/retention evidence and the Legacy Kármán field result therefore remain separate support chains, not a pooled convergence claim. [M03; M04; Wave-A audit] ### Discussion paragraph 2 — executable SR and corrected mean/dynamic CCD The Kármán interpretation becomes narrower, rather than stronger, when the action and field analyses are placed in their own estimands. In the Legacy executable SR route, the mapped-shared law passes its named deployment checks, and parent-relative fixed-window deletions rank the persistent rear counter-rotation as the largest tested contribution, with smaller rear-lift feedback and a weak or mixed tested front correction. These are deletion tests, not causal ablations. In the corrected four-role Legacy CCD ledger, the constant mean accounts for 93.42% of the measured zero-to-DRL target-error reduction and the remaining 6.58% is organized by a separately centred, non-paired residual represented as action-correlated correction-field modes. Together these are compatible, non-equivalent action-space and field-role organizations that motivate a control-skeleton reading—dominant persistent rear rotation plus smaller dynamic correction—but they are not two independent confirmations and neither establishes term necessity, a unique law, a response mechanism or causal field attribution. The standardized PPO and corrected CCD mean errors are different estimands: they use different role acquisitions and role sets, retained windows, masks and weighting/normalization contracts, and are not combined arithmetically or described as replication, validation, agreement or triangulation. [M05; M06; M04–M06 reconciliation] ### Discussion paragraph 3 — breadth, steady context and experiment boundary The interpretation is asymmetric across cases. The Vortex material supports only a comparable-scale, event-relative extension; no Vortex event L2 is currently available. Illusion PPO remains separate capability evidence, while Illusion SR is historical/negative and must not be used to negate or explain the PPO demonstration. Erase has no supported quantitative route under the historical evolving-force-FIFO target. The steady branch is separate contextual evidence: SR’s fitted constant magnitude 3.431 and the V5 endpoint at s=3.55 are related diagnostics only, not an amplitude comparison, cross-chain continuation or proof of the Kármán law. CCD’s constant mean is a field-role comparator, not an action magnitude. The failed potential sign and incomplete Navier–Stokes/momentum/mechanical-energy accounting leave the physical reading bounded. Finally, Module 09 reserves an author-described qualitative open-loop experiment interface: steady streaklines were described as straighter and Illusion shedding as visibly changed, but those observations remain conditional on raw-media provenance and trial linkage. They are not established paper results and do not provide quantitative field matching, calibrated force evidence or experimental validation. [M07; M08; M09; R1 experiment/case-metrics dossier] ### Discussion paragraph 4 — decisive tests that change the ceiling The next tests should target the exact unresolved links rather than add cases without matched estimands. First, propose same-protocol Legacy Kármán interventions with predeclared compatible roles, windows and estimands for target, PPO, executable SR, constant and zero; do not assume that all roles can share identical phase semantics. Paired or independently parented realizations should be used where the design requires them. The action roles should then be compared at matched amplitude and sign, with the field evaluator carrying the same-chain L2 and case-specific DTW contracts. Second, Vortex requires an audited target/control/zero event acquisition and an event-relative downstream-ROI evaluator at the declared offsets; Erase requires an independently defined target scale and supported roles before any quantitative panel. Third, the persistent/dynamic interpretation requires a complete control-volume Navier–Stokes, momentum and mechanical-energy budget, including the terms currently missing from the partial ledger. Finally, crossing from CFD to experiment requires synchronized, calibrated PIV and body-resolved force measurements with registration, clocks, background blanks, declared repeats and the Module 09 provenance gate. These tests would raise specific claim ceilings; they would not retroactively merge chains or make non-equivalent metrics interchangeable. [M03; M05–M09; R1 experiment/case-metrics dossier] ## Three-paragraph conclusion map ### Conclusion paragraph 1 — answer in evidence order Open with the named capability: learned control provides wake-signature or visual PPO capability for the declared Kármán, Vortex and Illusion task demonstrations, with the cross-case contracts kept separate. Move immediately to the independent Legacy Kármán spatial result: field matching is supported only for that named case by the complete-cycle mean and phase-resolved L2 comparisons, while DTW is complementary signal evidence. Do not introduce a new number, citation or figure here. ### Conclusion paragraph 2 — strongest interpretation and ceiling State that the Legacy Kármán action and field evidence supports a bounded control-skeleton interpretation: dominant persistent rear rotation plus a smaller dynamic correction. Name the SR deletion ranking and corrected four-role mean/dynamic CCD organization only as non-equivalent evidence. Make the mandatory boundary explicit: the M04 standardized PPO and M06 corrected CCD ledgers are different estimands and do not provide independent triangulation. The interpretation remains descriptive and bounded; it does not establish a unbounded law, causal explanation, necessity, sufficiency, uniqueness or claim of time-invariant behaviour. ### Conclusion paragraph 3 — limits and one decisive testing program Close with the asymmetric envelope: Vortex has no event L2 yet; Illusion PPO is separate from negative Illusion SR; Erase lacks a supported quantitative route; steady 3.431 and s=3.55 are contextual diagnostics; theory and budgets remain incomplete; the experiment interface remains author-described and provenance-gated. Name the decisive program compactly: matched same-protocol interventions and roles, event evaluator/acquisitions, same-chain amplitude/sign comparisons, independent parent realizations where needed, complete budgets, and synchronized calibrated PIV/force measurements. The paper therefore establishes named capability across tasks, Legacy Kármán field matching, and a bounded Legacy Kármán control-skeleton interpretation, with the next ceiling set by direct intervention, closure and measurement tests. ## Layer 2 — claim-to-evidence and interface ledger | Claim or boundary | Exact source/artifact | Chain, solver/geometry, case/role, Re | Comparator, metric/estimand, ROI/window | Status | |---|---|---|---|---| | Named capability and Legacy Kármán field matching | `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/04_KARMAN_PERFORMANCE.md`; `03_CONTRACTS_METRICS.md` | Legacy Re100 Kármán principal; separate V5 Re100 secondary | Named wake-signature/visual PPO capability under distinct cross-case contracts; Legacy target/controlled/zero complete-cycle mean and eight-slot phase L2 in registered ROI; DTW complement | Read; raw fields/masks artifact-audit deferred | | Persistent rear term and smaller feedback | `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/05_KARMAN_SR_LAW.md`; `tables/term_deletion.md` | Legacy Kármán re-codes 50/100/200/400; native Legacy action | Parent-relative fixed 40-step native DTW deletion; rear constant largest tested | Read; deletion is not causal ablation | | Corrected mean/dynamic organization | `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/06_KARMAN_FIELD_CCD.md` | Legacy Re100; target, zero, constant mean, DRL; exact common mask | Coordinate-weighted mean error; separately centred non-paired 19×10 residual; CCD action association | Read; descriptive/noncausal | | M04/M06 non-equivalence | `00_WAVE_A_COORDINATOR_AUDIT.md` §§28–37; M04/M06 exports | Distinct acquisitions, role sets, windows, masks and chains/contracts | M04 unweighted U0-normalized geometry guard versus M06 coordinate-weighted exact common mask | Read; never arithmetic combination/triangulation | | Cross-case ceiling | `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/07_CROSS_CASE_EXTENSIONS.md` | Legacy Vortex; V5 Illusion PPO; Legacy Illusion SR/Erase history | No Vortex event L2; Illusion PPO capability; Illusion SR negative; Erase unsupported | Read; gaps preserved | | Steady/theory/experiment limits | `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/08_STEADY_SYNTHESIS.md`; `ROUND3_BOTTOM_UP/09_EXPERIMENT_AUTHOR_INTERFACE.md`; `ROUND1_BOTTOM_UP/08_EXPERIMENT_AND_CASE_METRICS.md` | Separate V5 steady and Legacy Kármán; author-described open-loop water-tunnel interface | SR 3.431 and V5 s=3.55 contextual; failed sign; incomplete budgets; experiment observations conditional on raw-media provenance | Read; M09 interface ready, final prose/panel blocked | | Decisive tests | M03, M05–M09 exports; R1 experiment/case metrics | Matched same-chain roles/interventions; exact event roles; calibrated experiment | Same-protocol metrics, event L2, amplitude/sign, complete budgets, synchronized PIV/force | Open tests, not results | ### Interface ledger - **Imports:** M03 chain, role, action, Reynolds and metric contracts; M04 Legacy Kármán field-matching result; M05 executable SR/deletion ceiling; M06 corrected four-role mean/dynamic and CCD boundary; M07 cross-case gaps; M08 steady/theory bridge; M09 author-described experiment interface and provenance gate. - **Export to final audit:** named capability across tasks, Legacy Kármán field matching, and a bounded Legacy Kármán control-skeleton interpretation. No export carries a pooled metric, cross-chain continuation, causal mechanism, unbounded law or quantitative experiment result. - **Genuine blockers:** none for this bounded first-pass text. Retained quantitative Vortex/Erase panels remain blocked by role/evaluator contracts; quantitative experiment remains blocked by missing synchronized calibrated PIV/force data. Hidden artifacts are `artifact-audit deferred` where authorities bind the current claim without conflict. ### Coverage ledger - **`read`:** Round-3 controls/interface and Wave-A audit; Round-2 freeze/style; ready Modules 03–09; Round-1 experiment/case-specific metric dossier; current authorities cited above. Evidence is read, not independently recomputed or universally artifact-audited. - **`mapped`:** package manifests, figure navigation and authority-linked external result roots referenced by Modules 03–09. Mapped is not read, independently verified or artifact-audited. - **`not-covered`:** new literature, CFD, retraining, event evaluator, Vortex/Erase acquisitions, complete budgets, synchronized experiment processing and new figures. - **`external-inaccessible`:** hidden/symlink-backed raw fields, selected model/normalizer bundles and dense theory/CCD payloads where current authorities bind bounded statements; artifact audit deferred. ## Figure, table and equation contracts 1. **Integrated evidence map:** orders capability, Legacy L2, SR deletion, corrected mean/dynamic CCD, cross-case, steady, theory and experiment. Dashed links mean compatible but non-equivalent observations; unresolved links mark causality and closure gaps. It does not depict a causal chain or pooled score. 2. **Compact limitations table:** lists chain, case, role, estimand and blocked claim for Vortex, Illusion SR, Erase, steady, theory and experiment. It does not add results or convert missing artifacts into negative findings. 3. **No new equation or numerical figure is required for the conclusion.** Existing panels retain their own captions and limitations; this first pass does not imply that all proposed panels already exist. ## Claim ladder **Supported / green:** named learned control provides wake-signature or visual PPO capability under the declared cross-case contracts; independent Legacy Kármán field matching shows the controlled field is closer to target than physical zero under its mean and phase L2 estimands; executable Legacy SR deletion ranks the persistent rear term largest among tested terms; corrected CCD organizes a smaller residual descriptively as action-correlated correction-field modes. **Bounded / amber:** these results support a Legacy Kármán control-skeleton interpretation consisting of dominant persistent rear rotation plus a smaller dynamic correction; separate steady diagnostics provide contextual information; cross-case demonstrations show named capability breadth under changed contracts. **Prohibited / red without new evidence:** unbounded transfer, causal explanation, necessity, sufficiency, uniqueness, claim of time-invariant behaviour, momentum restoration, independent triangulation, cross-chain continuation, quantitative Vortex or Erase efficacy, positive Illusion SR, or quantitative experiment claims. ## Anti-repetition and first-pass audit - **Evidence order:** named capability → Legacy Kármán L2 → executable SR/deletion → corrected four-role mean/dynamic CCD → cross-case breadth → separate steady context → author-described qualitative experiment interface; the conclusion map follows the same order. - **Near-collision:** M04/M06 are explicitly different estimands; no arithmetic, replication, validation, agreement or triangulation wording is used. SR 3.431 and steady s=3.55 are related contextual diagnostics only; CCD constant mean is not action magnitude. - **Boundary:** no Vortex event L2 is invented; Illusion PPO is not merged with negative Illusion SR; Erase is not repaired from filenames; steady/theory/experiment do not raise the Kármán ceiling. - **Terminology:** wake-signature matching, field matching, spatial L2, complementary DTW, control skeleton and action-correlated correction-field modes are used; causal and unbounded readings are excluded. - **Layer control:** Layer 1 has four discussion paragraphs plus a three-paragraph conclusion map; Layer 2 carries provenance, coverage, interfaces and contracts. This is a revised candidate for second audit, not a readiness declaration.
